Exhaust Pipes?

Okay, this may seem like a dumb question, but oh well here goes! I am being told by someone trying to sell me a set of used pipes that the fitment for an 86-06 soft tail is the same as my S&S 107ci. on my 04' Ridgeback. Can anyone tell me if this is correct, or is he feeding me a line of shit? If this isn't true, what should I look for while trying to bargin shop for a set of used pipes? Not to be a cheap Bastard or anything, but my funds for this bike are tapped out for the year, and I would like to beef up the exhaust tune if a reasonable offer presents itself.

the pipes are probably the same but you will most likely have to fabricate a bracket to fit your bike.

Seriously doubt they will fit if your bike is RSD and a big rear tire.

I agree with Black Dawg but I believe the 107" motors were left side drive so building a bracket may be all that is needed.

This is true to an extent. If you had a softail model like the chopper even the the bracket would work, all you would need is some 1/2 or 5/8 spacers to make up for the trans offset. The problem withe the ridgeback is that I do not believe the tab on the swing arm is in a standard softail position. If you went with a transmission mounted set of pipes you would be OK.
