I have a set of Hooker black pipes on my 09 Coyote. there is a couple minor scratches on them and want to get them recoated. Any ideas on if these were ceramic coated or just a high heat type paint? Or will powdercoating be able to stand up to the temps of exhast pipes and heat shields. Thanks for the help.

I tried to coat my grumpy's twisted sisters with the high temp ceramic paint that can be bought at aut parts stores. prepped the pipes, primed, coated, and heat cycled as the directions stated. They Didn't hold up,wasted time and $. I should have sent them off for recoating. I ended up wrapping them half way down and painting the wrap black. To me, it looks like 30 miles of dirt road. Hate it. I ultimately ould like to somehow turn those into a 2 into 1 setup. It would take some fab work but I think it would be one of a kind and then have the pipes re chromed again. I wish Nasa made some paint that would would work. I'm the guy on the Bigdog who parks behind the dumpsters at the bars because I hate my pipes right now.

I got a friend of mine to powder coat my shields black . It's been on for bout 1500 miles and no issues at all except for draging the pipes on the pavement and scraping it off.
