Excessive belt dust?

Does anyone else get a lot of belt dust on their rims, especially LSD! I was about to wash and polish in preparation for the Myrtle Beach Rally (I'm sorry its now called the Grand Strand Rally) next week and noticed quite a heavy deposit of what appears to be belt dust/shaving on the belt side of my rim. So anyway I wash it, dry it and take it for a quick ride around the block before polishing those rims. Well anyway I pull back into my driveway after the ride around the block (no faster than 35 MPH about 1/4 mile) and that belt side has quite a bit of black dust again. I do have a Primo Open Belt. About two years ago I had the final drive belt replaced, due to that ungodly squealing. We also put a smaller front pulley in due to it rubbing inside of the casing or whatever you call where it goes in, but its been good ever since! Checked the alignment and it seems to be good, within about 1/8 of an inch (I can't see those small lines to good). With the rear wheel off of the ground and rotating in the direction of travel I do hear what sounds like it rubbing somewhere up in there! What next?

you could spray the belt with silicone and ride it to make sure its coming from the belt?

I replaced the Avon tire on my Bulldog with another brand and the new tire was wider even though it was the same size, this caused the belt to rub the side of the tire and I had the same problem until I got rid of that tire and went back to Avon. Just a guess based on my experience with excessive dust.

No its not jumping at all. As you rotate the tire in the direction of travel you hear a slight rubbing noise. Yea I checked the alignment from side to side and it appears to be real close, like I said, lol I have a hard time seeing those 1/8 marks. But measured from the axle to the swing arm bolt its pretty close on both sides!

believe me im no expert but 1/8 inch from side to side sounds like alot, check for worn wheel bearings or something loose.if your sure its belt dust,i spray my belt weekly because i cant get rid of the squesk so my wheels get dirty.whats the edge of the belt look like?

Thank mobsta for that wheel bearing idea! I will have to check that I guess when I get back from Myrtle Beach, probably to close to get into something like that!
Yea I used to spray mine also due to that squeak and like I said earlier, I had a new belt a front pulley put on and its been pretty good every since but I always have a fear that the horrible squeak will return.
