On Sunday the wife and I rode in a charity ride for Ernie Lizarraga. You may remember his accident made national news. It was an awesome sight to see all the bikers, (I heard over 1000:eek:) who showed up to support Ernie! :flag:

On March 25th, PHOENIX FIRE DEPT CAPTAIN Ernie Lizarraga and several other motorcyclists were involved in a horrific and tragic accident.

An inattentive driver - who is now known to have been impaired - literally ran over EIGHT motorcycles while they were stopped at an intersection, killing four motorcyclists and seriously injuring five others.

Ernie was one of those critically injured in the incident. and while the other riders have since been released from the hospital and are recovering from their injuries, Ernie is STILL in the hospital listed in serious condition.

Chris, What a turnout for a very tragic (and unnecessary)accident (I remember seeing this on the news - Very Sad day).

Thanks for the pictures and I hope Ernie can recover and RIP to those who died.

Again it was good to meet and ride with you at AZ Bike Week. We had a great time.

Thanks for the pics. Hope the driver that caused that accident (if you can call it that!) suffers.

I still think about that accident all the time and the frightful helplessness to avoid the ingnorance and stupidy of others on the road. I mean no care or caution or actions can save you when something like that happens.

I was nearly hit by a speeding retard on a crotch rocket at Thunder Beach last weekend. I looked in my mirrors and saw lights way behind me and I changed lanes, no sooner than I did that and ZOOOOOOOOM, a crotch rocket buzzed me doing over 100MPH (in a 30MPH zone) and I had changed lanes right into his path.

Anyhow, I don't know Ernie or any other of the victims of that tragedy, but my heart goes out to their families. You want to tell people to be careful, but so much is completly out of your control when you are out there amongst the stupid and careless.
