Hi All,

First off, MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy New Year!!! I have an 03 Husky, 107, NO Compression Releases. I notice every time I start her up cold, I get a noticeable clunking/knocking from the engine until she starts up. It almost sounds to me that the cylinder is void of any lubrication. I am running 93 octane fuel, unfortunately 10% ethanol. After it starts, all is fine, no clunking. Does anyone else have this condition and does anyone know what causes it. Thanks,

John

the clunk could be the starter hitting against the compression stroke. try rolling the bike in gear and feeling for the motor to get off the compression. as far as the knock, it could be that all the oil has drained down in the crankcase. just a guess on both ideas.

Lets start with the basic's first:flag:!!!!!!

First check your oil level and condition of the oil, then pull a sample of it and look at it in a clear bottle or whatever, see any metal or shiny stuff:confused:???...........2nd what kind of engine oil and what weight are you using:)???????

Then pull your spark plugs out.....look carefully at the electrode and look for ANY type of metal on it...
