I just installed a Thunderheart ASM5012 ignition and since I installed it my electronic compression releases are not working. My bike will not start unless I manually hold down one of the compression releases until it fires. What have I done wrong because they were working fine before TH ignition install. Also if my bike sits for a little while when I start it the rpm gauge isn't working. By not working I mean theres no lights in the tach part of the speedo, but if I shut the bike off and start it right back up it works fine.

This is a general question. I was always taught that if threading 2 metal parts togther you should use thread lock or they could and will most likely vibrate apart. Is this true on our BDM because I'm having some stuff vibrating apart and when I went to tighten or put it back on I noticed there wasn't type of thread lock in the parts that have vibrated apart. Should I go back and use some blue thread on these parts.

Oh, I have a 07 Mastiff.

Loc-tite is your friend. If you haven't got one, I would suggest you get a maintenance manual. It lists what type of loc-tite to apply to your hardware. Blue and Red are used...:2thumbs:

Did you remove the tank or disturb the wiring under that tank in anyway. They may have gotten disconnected. What I did a long time a ago to ensure they would always work was connect those two green wires to the Green wire that goes to the starter solenoid. I know that they are going to work at least while I have my finger on the starter button :2thumbs:
