EHC tester

We are an American Iron Service center and years ago this machine that Ironhorse sent us to test the RHC unit was the biggest piece of crap I have ever seen.:bang: Just like the igniter tester we have.:bang::bang: You can hook up a bad unit and it shows good. Hook up a new unit and it shows bad. I think the crazy magic 8 ball is a better way to test. Magic 8 ball is my EHC bad???????:loony::loony::loony:

ha ha I really like that reply.....

Sounds like it's nothing more than a "Box full of "switches" being used as jumpers and a bunch of "LED lights" to take the place of a volt meter" basically!

:nonod::zzdisappointed:
Exactly, just use a multi meter...

It doesn't supply a load, and will test the circuit, until you load it and it fails.

Sounds like this BDM "Majik Box" is a "no nonsense" tool for the shop guys that do not know how to test for electrical problems or that don't know how to use a multi meter.:D

Closing in on 60,000 miles on my '05 Chopper with the stock EHC. Only issues I've had that may be attributed to the EHC is the occasional times when the bike goes totally dead. Allowing it to sit though for about 10 minutes brings everything back to life, and I can continue riding as if nothing has happened. This occurs only about a couple times a years, so it's really hard to trouble-shoot. I suppose it could be the EHC, but the ignition switch can also cause this.

Definately impressive. Not the average dog I guess, it actually gets ridden. Imagine that. 60K on an 05? NICE!!! The worst thing for a bike (or car for that matter) is NOT RIDING THEM!!! That's probably one of the reasons you're having such good luck with yours. They are made to be ridden and not just conversation pieces to pull out for 100 miles every year or two. I try to tell my customers that some of their aggravating little problems are self-inflicted but most of them still don't ride their bike much at all. There's no problem with that as long as they are willing to accept the consequences. It's not a bad bike or bad service. It's just better to ride your bike regularly.

Keep on riding!!!!!!!!!!

Curious to know how you determine a hotspot in the EHC? Also, what are the symtoms you are basing this on?
