i tried to open an original one. my first bad one of two before wire plus. it cant happen- that thing is filled w some type of epoxy.
broke all to shit.

Lots of electronic parts are doen like that to protect the guts, mositure, dirt, us guys from manipulation. I think the actual term for the stuff is "potting"

Potting compound is also used to dissapate heat.
