EHC - red ignition light

since installing the IST ignition I notice the red ignition light comes on on the EHC - unless this is simply because the EHC doesn't recognise anything other than the stock ignition, the only thought I have is that the stock crank position sensor is no longer used. I have not disconnected it from the EHC though, I just cut the wire and sealed the end. Any thoughts? everything seems to be working fine.

Thanks gents

The ignition led would actually flash at the same rate the engine is firing. Perhaps with the IST the ehc doesn't detect the firing from the ignition system. The ehc would see the ignition firing as and open and short circuit and flash.

Lee, are you talking about the red LED on the EHC that comes on when you push RUN? If so that is good. That is when the EHC sends power to the ignition system (regardless what system that is). With the key just turned on it should not be lit, then you push RUN and it comes on. Then you can turn it off by simply pressing OFF

Check the position of said light here

yep thats the one and yes that is what happens - so thats right then? I've just never noticed it before and when you fit a new ignition system and then notice the EHC ignition light coming on...

Thanks Chris
