See what you can get out of Big dog and trust me I am no mechanic but there are some really good people on this site who have helped me out of a bind more than a few times.
Problematic? Your ECH can certainly be bad but not sure what the definition of problematic is. 1%? 5%? of the dogs on the road have bad EHCs??? Again I am not an expert but I would think that albeit a pain in the ass for some the percentage of legitimate bad EHCs is fairly low. I bought my 08 left over 2010 of this year and it runs great! Just say'n.WOW! Somebody doesnt have much to do...lol..Well the dealer put the bike on the computer that said it was the EHC causing problems....Dont get it wrong, I'ma Big Dog Fan! but the EHC seems to be a little "Problematic"...Come on we all know, Big Dog could have improved the circuitry..."Hence" Wire Plus....Lets not be "blinded by the light"![]()
:roll::roll: Love it!Damn Dog I need a background done too, I cant remember shit so any help???![]()
you need to get laid!I hope everyone gets there bikes fixed, I have about 30000 miles, do most of my own work, and love my dog. I figure it's as beautiful as any women, I give it less attention and get more from it, cost me less then any women I have been with PLUS in most cases I get something for my money - shiny piece of metal or something to install instead of having to think about my feeling or what someone thinks I did wrong, even if I didn't do anything, does not talk back and when it does (back fire) I like it. I get to wash it and touch it anywhere I want, OK now I guess I am getting carried away - I Love MY Bigdog, most good things in live you have to work at and I would rather work on the DOG. Is this the right tread OH WELL, OH on second ECM first replaced under warranty and no other problems to date.
The local stealer here had Ironhorse, and Swift. They now have Appolo, Bourget and Brass B.My EHC was acting up and the bike would just die and maybe restart but then it got worse and wouldn't even turn on.
THAT DAM EHC!
You know what the problem was.....LOOSE WIRE CRIMPS ON THE WIRES AT THE BATTERY.
Thanks PurpleDog for tracking my Dog issues, but at the end of the day, I need a 30K dollar bike to perform and not be in the shop...No disrespect...
You guys dont get it...No bike under warranty should sit at the Dealership for over 30days...of course, mine have only been 1 week, but BDM must provide a solution to the downtime...I'm confident they will get me up and running soon OR provide me with something to ride in the interim...Its not my fault they're inventory got low and they waited til they were fresh out to produce new computers...For those who need business advice, don't wait til your "well run dry" to look for more Water...And No, I didnt pay 30k...I paid 21.5k.....But 2 years ago, folks were paying 38K or more for a K-9 EFI...Also, for the Record, I have all the tools I need and I'm a decent mechanic...But remember, I cant touch my bike! Its still under warranty, so I have to let BDM service center screw with it....I may not be riding for a while, but it's called holding a company responsible for taking care of customers...I'm pretty sure they will take care of me soon...Did you really give 30K for that bike. I haven't seen a 30K dog in awhile. They're selling Bulldogs in OKC right now for 28K and those are 2010's.
Good luck on getting it fixed. Mines still under warrenty also so I understand running it to the dealer at the first sign of trouble. I also want to know the how and why something broke so maybe I fix it myself when it's out of warrenty. There's a lot of help on this forum. Just have patience and let everyone know what mods you've done to the bike and what the problem is. You can bet it's all happened here to someone before.
Also buy yourself a service manual for that bike. It won't be under warrenty forever. Unless your going to run it to a shop everytime it breaks your going to have to get your hands dirty. You did buy a hot rod of a bike.
Let us know how the EHC replacement goes and how long it takes. There's bikes at the dealer here that have been sitting around since summer waiting on EHC's. I would have to get proactive and spend the money for a wires plus kit. Spend $500 and ride now or wait until who knows when and ride later.
Is this a "Big Dog" Forum, or a "Self Modified chopper", which started life as a Big Dog Forum...Seems to me Big Dog is taking credit for everyone's Mechanical and financial ventures....hey some guys these days don't like to get their hands dirty, they should ride vespas!
How is Big Dog taking credit for everyone's Mechanical and financial ventures?????? Also this site isn’t sponsored by Big Dog.Is this a "Big Dog" Forum, or a "Self Modified chopper", which started life as a Big Dog Forum...Seems to me Big Dog is taking credit for everyone's Mechanical and financial ventures....
