Based on what you've previously told us; (which is all we really know) let's play it back to something like this:
1) You bought an '08 EFI model in Oct of this year after it having sat in showroom for some 2 + years.
a) Was it ran periodically - don't know
b) Did it sit there with fuel stabilizer in it - don't know
c) How many miles were on this new bike - don't know
d) Bike hesitates under 3k RPM - no its not your primary causing this.
- varnished up fuel system? who knows.
2) ~3 hrs later; you let us know about shiny new pipes; bike still runs poorly under 3k RPM, but looks and sounds bad ass over the previous V&H.
a)Next day V&H pipes go on the auction block.
4) Chrome the hand controls once you figure out how to take them off.
5) Two months later; Santa brings some Kurayken multicolored bling bling to the mix
a) Chrome hand controls, kick ass pipes, multi-color lights, uh oh, hey something wrong with my EFI - wtf.
b) Cut the stock plug wires in favor of Red ones - did you get some some nice Red taylor wires overnight and installed?
6) Next day, bike is not getting fuel - hear what is described as air being sucked from pump; ran it a bit low on fuel the day before.
a) yep, new battery; when, which one, how many CCA, kept on tender etc?
7) 8 hrs later; replaced fuse, same prob; ah screw it, take it to the same dealer that you don't know if they know what they are doing anymore than yourself.
8) Two days later, dealer says EHC goes caboom? Huh? Come again?
a) Why - What dealer describes a problem with such terms?
b) How was it tested
c) Can anyone in this picture better describe what caboom means?
d) Can they explain to you sufficiently how is it we go from pump is pumping something, but bike isn't getting fuel to a bad EHC diagnosis? what circuit path has failed specifically?
You just want to ride, that's understandable. But really, why should BDM or anyone else believe your EHC is defective based on what we know? Why do you seem to believe there is an inherent design flaw with your 08 EHC? Is it because you've read various threads, articles etc about prior years problems and just assume it all fits and that must be it? Have you also read that BD has also corrected problems with it over the years? Could it be the problem? - Sure.
Doubt it; but either way, in the end your thread is just another of threads which leads people like yourself to condemn the EHC without any real knowledge of diagnosis - thus completing the circle.... - jus saying.
But hey, best of luck getting her back on the road quickly and let us know how it turns out....
