Guys, there are at least 4 "Sturgis'" that I know of.
First is Sturgis SD 69th year
2nd is Little Sturgis 17th year Home
3rd is Stugis South 12th year Sturgis South Motorcycle Rally
4th is Sturgis Eastcoast 6th year East Coast Sturgis Motorcycle Rally,demolition derby,biker

The East Coast Sturgis is just down the road from me and is some very nice riding over there. I think Hoat went a couple of years ago and had a good report.
Others that I have known go, seem to have fun, keep in mind though it is on the border of Maryland and WV, so expect allot of interesting characters.
Little Sturgis is in Kentucky and next to the Real Sturgis, is very well known and known many that have gone. Allot of old school type event, expect lots of skin and some more interesting locals.
Not sure about the other one. Regardless, if you have not made Sturgis in SD, should be on a must do before you get too old to ride.

Wife & I went in 08 and again this year. It's a great event. Good people, fun times, great riding through the hills of Western MD and PA.
