E-mail from BDM Performance Parts today:

New website!
http://www.bdmperformanceproducts.com/
Best I could find for old dogs was some stuff for 2003 - up. Maybe I'm missing something? Please fix me if I'm wrong, but if I'm right then I guess it's not totally unexpected.

Don't take this wrong folks... I, like a lot of others make our way in life as usual. Those of us with older than 2003 would appreciate some love too- like maybe some tech specs for the custom stuff on our bikes so we know how to better replace it with aftermarket or Harley stuff. I figure they should have some of that information around still and should post it if they do to lend a hand.

We all need to "fish or cut bait" at some point, but I was hoping that the folks like us who helped them get started and those who bought older BD's second-hand could get some help too.

Oh well. No worries. Lately, I kinda own a "Hardley Davidson" -what with all the Harley parts I put on my 2000 Vintage Sport by now.

I feel kinda bad for folks who haven't been into "it" long enough to figure out how to deal with the situation. Just sayin'.

Peace, Respect,
OHM

I do appreciate Knotso- thanks, again.

No, I didn't write that to BDM PP. I signed up for their web site, in the hope that they might provide links to parts for older BDM's, or would disclose more info about older dogs in relation to parts I need from time to time that are getting harder to find replacements for.

Fact is the bike is running great right now and I got enough other stuff in life to deal with that it might take some time for me to get around to taking up your suggestion to contact them about it- and I've kinda gotten used to just dealing with whatever comes up on my own. No disrespect meant towards anybody. I was just commenting about what I found (or more accurately didn't find) on BDM PP's web site about parts for older bikes like mine and other folk's who are on this section of the board.

It's all good sir...
It presents a challenge!

Peace, Respect,
OHM

I got that e-mail as well and also logged onto their Facebook page. Not much there, but they did give "hints" there's more stuff coming...

I have to believe the lawyers still have BDM pretty much tied up at this point and have restricted what info the new group can offer or put out there.

Hopefully in time things will loosen up and we can get access to archived technical info.

We own the products they produced, so we should have some rights to that info.

I got the email also and was amazed at the newly FINALLY finished website...I think the way they blow up all the sections of the bike ,just like the manual are great, its easy to maneuver through and very self explanatory....however they dont seem to have any of the parts I need to replace my trans, inner and outer primaries, nor parts for my starter...Guess it will be a hit and miss thing with them......
Must commend the website though...

BDM told me to just go directly to Baker and S & S for the time being...which is fine, I'm a dealer for them, also, but that may be why you're not seeing stuff for your trans. 9 times out of 10 we replace starters here as opposed to doing any rebuilds...ends up being cheaper for the customer anyways once it's said and done what with labor and all.

Just placed an order for some things I wanted, We will see. They have always responded to my emails. And yes I have issues with my dog, That's why we are here. The people here on the forum are some of the most knowledgeable people I have dealt with. Always willing to lend a hand. As far as BDM ,lets cut them some slack as they try to recover and rebuild a business.
