Dye a T-Bag

Funny title huh?

My old T-Bag "Baja" bag was so faded after 3 years in the Southern Kalifornia sunshine so I did something about it.

My Saddleman bag is too big on the back but I didn't want to put the Baja bag back on cause it was so ugly.
So, I went to the grocery store and bought some dye you get in the laundry section. It's called "Rit" dye and cost $2. I mixed it up and dumped into the deep sink full of hot water and soaked the bag over night. I think it should have come out darker or more black but it's a lot better and can now go on the back of my scoot.

What do you think now? Now it's ready for the Smoke Out Run to Arizona!!!

When you going to paint the PINK house? Looks like a PINK outhouse also. Your killing us Ray. A man of your stature should not be in a pink house. :bang:

Crafty! Did it shrink any? I think you can dye it again to acheive an even darker color.

No, its to heavy. But I may do it again just to get it darker. But I'll use a bucket this time. It ruined my deepsink. I have it full of bleach water now!!!

Sure beats buying a new one just for that faded cosmetic problem. Great thinking Ray!

Well the bag looked good when it was wet but as soon it dried it went about back to it's faded color.
Going to have to try something else.
Anyone have any ideas or a better brand of dye?

Thanks,

They sell spray dye in a can for car interiors at pep boys.....I've used it before and it is pretty good stuff especially when you are staying with the same color!

Ray I checked my T-Bag and I think it is a synthetic type of material. The fiber is colored during the manufacturing process. You may not be able to dye it.

Well that just sucks. Maybe I will just have to spray paint the damn thing! :whoop:

Or just settle for the gray color.

Thanks MD
