Draining Oil from 2000 Bulldog....how?

I want to learn to change my own oil and don't see any drain plug other than at the bottom of the crankcase. This plug does not release a lot of oil as most of it sits in the oil tank.

I can not see or feel any kind of drain plug/valve on the oil tank.

Should I just remove the supply lines?

The tank, as it sits in the frame, is leaned back a bit so how would you get all the oil out from the far "corners" of the oil bag?

I feel stupid for asking but figured I'm overlooking something very simple (hate when that happens!)

Look for a hose at the bottom of your oil bag with a plug on it. That should be your drain hose. It'll look something like this.

If not then you need to remove 1 of your oil lines from the bag.

I would not recommend to remove the plug from the crank case, you could run into problems with repeated removal and reinstallation.

I don't know what the earlier bikes had but I had a hose like CC posted on my 03 but my 05 just has a drain plug on the bottom of the tank on the leaning side.

Seems to change with each design change.

I can bet that they use the hose like mine because that's how they did it in the earlier years. Most of the earlier customs that I have seen has my set up.

My 2000 Husky has a hose exactly like the photo in above, and my 86 Softail was also the same, maybe its tucked up just under the tank??

My 02 has a drain hose connecting to the oil bag...

By draining from the hose will this get all the oil out of the bag and engine?
Is there a filter to replace? What kind of oil do you guys use? How much oil?

Do a search on oil changes. It will show you the process and do a search on the Scavenger.

I use the Scavenger system on my BD Chopper and my Evo bagger. Great system flushes ALL the oil.
