Doherty Power Pacc

Need some help on an install for the power pacc...2007 chopper, stock G carb. Was told that correct part # is 1258..
having trouble with fit..2 button head bolts that secure backing plate to heads are too short, even without washer or spacers, bolt barely gets in one thread. also after securing plate with the three 1/4" button head screws, plate really doesn't line up well, maybe there's a tolerance and the velocity stack, when installed, will make that up and give a smooth connection with the carb...also what to do with the crossover hose, was attached to vent on stock backing plate, no where for it to go now on power pacc plate..

I'm sure u guys have hit this one on the site before...so thanks for any feedback.

I installed the same one a while back -- you need to buy some thin washers to fillin the space between the powerpac and the heads. You also need to buy longer bolts from your local hw store - I think 2 1/4" -- but you can check it. Also if you plan on connecting the rear crankcase breather you will need a 1/8" pipe-thread (fine) fitting also from your local h/w store in the plumbing section. The powerpac has blue plugs in the breather holes so be sure to use the one on the right side. The kit comes with a knob for the enricher that connects via a set screw. Be sure to use locktite on the bolts to the head and carb. Need any more help let me know a d I will send you some photos.

Note I had not removed the blue plug on the right side yet.

Crankcase Breather attached.

thx slow,

thought about just changing out the bolts but the further along I got I was thinking I may have gotten the wrong part #. As you said just a 1/8" threaded nipple for the breather hose down to the right breather hole...also, did you remove silicone plug from air bleed hole like it says in the instructions?

I did remove the silicone plug per the directions ... your stock aircleaner fits or you can buy anything that will fit a super-g. Be sure you put some oil on the rubber O-Ring before pressing the collar into the backing plate or it will be a bear to get off. Good Luck!! :2thumbs:

Yes don't forget to pull the silicon plug out. I didn't have to mess with the breather plug because I have mine venting to the ground. You have the correct part its just not an exact fit for the super sidewinder motors. And as you said we had to add an additional small spacer to the system for a better fit and as a result use longer bolts as well.
