Everyone removes their reflectors, I'm sure you could talk someone into sending you theirs.

I would have removed mine as well if I bought the bike new.

I retired in 08 but I used a piece of plexiglass which I cut to fit the dod sticker. I drilled holes and Zip tied it to my downtube. From what I have read from this thread you might not be able to mount it verdical anymore but I never had any problems with it. I did have problems with the gaurds on occation but that was a lack of knowlage on the regulations on thier part.
