DNA Security what do you think?

I got this in the mail from my insurance company. You mark a spot on your bike and it supposedly helps get the bike back to you if stolen. Have you ever seen this before? Where did you mark your bike and put the sticker?

Why can't you just pee on your front tire like everyone else?

Not a fan of willingly getting my DNA profiled on principal.
Now let's face it I'm a law abiding citizen, but too many of these DNA firms give up the DNA to the government at the drop of a hat (en masse).
Granted that's been used to find some killers, but somehow a mass grab of DNA meant for Genealogy or Insurance er whatever seems too close to the line of self-incrimination for me personal tastes.
Buring gps based trackers in the bike seems like a better method (and would allow on the option of personally adjusting the attitude of the thief -- not that I would ever recommend such a thing mind you.)

When I replace the VFI on the one K-9 (if needed) I might have to bury a tracker into the same electronics -- You'd never notice one extra wire (antennae) coming out of thebox in the middle of the harness!

This deserves some serious thought -- could hide it in an ignition module as well.

What happens when someone else pees on the front tire more recently than you did?
If they bought it they might do that, how do you tell? Assumes the bike is found in one piece at which point why isn't the VIN good enough?

We need motorcycles thieves treated like horse thieves were in the past!

Photobucket is now able to use any biometric data they have from your posts including retinal scans if you posted it you can not opt out from it and they have the right to use it as they see fit or sell it to a 3rd party according to new user agreement. Unless you live in a state that don't allow it. Texas says you own your biometric data and can not be forced to comply with say a fingerprint, retinal scan or facial recognition. When I was working my employer wanted people to use a fingerprint scanner to login in the morning out at break back in after break same for lunch and leaving work and for to per job. I told them I would not comply as Texas said I own my data and it was unlawful to compel me to. Plus data can always be stolen and used elsewhere.

It says it is a "unique solution with coded microdots registered exclusively to you" so it's manufactured DNA as opposed to human DNA. I checked online and a site said it can be detected with UV light so that is something most theives already know. You would have to pour it down the handlebar to be undetected but if it's scrapped for parts that would be the only piece you could get back. The bast security is to keep an eye on your bike or have a damn good alarm. I agree with Jersey Mike, if they are caught string them up by their balls.
