There have been a lot of posts here lately that don't put this great website in a good positive nature. Disrespectful posts can sink a website quicker than you would/may think. Many of you may not remember the old Big Dog Owners Group. It sunk quick and all from negative posts, threats and members fighting against members.

As our guidelines state we don't "call out" members here in open forum. This is what we have the PM service for and recommend you use it when you have an issue with another member here to attempt to reconcile the issues you may each have. Then you can contact the staff here before posting in open forum.

Second, we don't "call out" the BDM factory, dealerships and authorized service centers by posting pictures of the owner/manager and telling them to "fuck off"!
What we do recommend is if you have an issue with the company or a dealer post a thread on it and state all of your issues (keeping the tone respectful). We have the factory here monitoring this site and many dealers also.
You call out a dealer owner/manager/mechanic by name then you alienate them from the other members here that may need service or parts at a later date. But stating the nature of your issues in a constructive manner can and would most likely resolve the issues better than negative posts.

Third, many here have issues with their bikes. We know and understand this. Most if not all on this site will go out of there way to help you if you ask. This works much better than coming on here and telling us what a POS (another term used today!:loony:) your bike is and then go on to tell us about how fucked up the factory is or a dealer or service center. Most members here if not most of you love your BD and have had relatively little problems. It's hard to come on here everyday and listen to the bitching over some issue that is easily resolved. Now before you attack me over this understand there are issues many documented here that just cannot be resolved for whatever reason and we can understand you being pissed over it. But even in these circumstances we ask that you attempt to keep a positive attitude while your issue is worked out. I know it's hard sometimes and we the staff appreciate your understanding.

BigDogBiker is the premier website for BD owners over 1000's of other website. No matter what happens in these economic times we the 28,000 owners out there need to hang together and help each other out through the good and bad times. At the same time we NEED the support of the BD factory and all the dealers that support us good or bad.

Lastly, we are here to support you the BD owner. Any question, recommendation or constructive criticism you may have I assure you we are here to listen and make the necessary changes that will support the overall population of this website.

I'm with Bill, Ray.:2thumbs:

One man's dealings with a particular dealer owner/manager/mechanic JUST MAY NOT be the same for another man. So one needs to take critical comments with a some skepticism. In other words "go see for yourself".

After all, if a customer goes into a dealer owner/manager/mechanic with an obvious "chip on his shoulder, he will probably NOT receive a "friendly" greeting.

BEST SOLUTION: Wrench it yourself! Then if you fix it you save $$$$. IF you Don't then you only have yourself to blame!:D

WOW.... what have i missed????

Well put Ray. and thank you and the mod's for the job you do... I also like what coach said.. :2thumbs:

I still say my bike is the best purchase i have made. have i had issues? sure. Did BDM step up when it was needed? they sure did.THANK YOU..
Did i have a problem that i was able to repair myself with the help of this forum? YES... and Thank You fellow members for your help. :2thumbs:
And i hope the posts i have made have helped some of you, Be it with your bike or directing you to a good service center, or staying away from a dealer that has has "above normal" poor service experiences...
I have worked in the service end of new car dealers for almost 30 years so i know how they work..... That said not everyone is going to be satisfied.. myself included.. as a result of my bad experience i looked for a new service center... and found a great one... I know i am starting to ramble so the bottom line is...

Life is too short to let the bumps in the road get to you.. And don't let that bump in the road cause you to lose control and put you in to a slide that you can't recover from...

Well said Ray! I feel very fortunate to have this forum. True I have had a lot of trouble with my bike, but bottom line is that I love it. I have always given credit to Big Dog for going above and beyond.
We all need to stick by your rules. I want this forum to last.

You also made me realize it's time to contribute. I'm going to right now. Thanks Ray for the inspiration. I challenge everyone that hasn't yet to contribute to this excellent knowledge source for Big Dog owners!
