Detail Wizard Kit is cool

I normally wash, blow dry and polish the aluminum on my bike but never really cleaned my bike. Seems like I spent hours already. Last week and weekend I got caught in a few thunderstorms and the bike really got funky. The bike was covered with a brown muck form all the clay that was washed into the road from all the construction going on out where I work in the industrial park. The crap got baked on for a couple of days. I did try to wash the bike off when I got home each night but the weather was in the 40's and wet already.
The bike is a mess.
I have been cleaning for a week due to it still raining and such.
I stopped in at the Big Dog dealership due to being in Nashville and bought a detail kit called "Detail Wizard". A couple of wooden sticks and three or 4 flat plastic pieces different sizes and a couple other things for 20 bucks.
When I opened it, I felt like I had been hosed.
After using a couple of the items they have carried their weight in gold.
I never knew in between the fins would polish out on my Diamond cut heads. I have been able to get to stuff that I have never done before. It is amazing when you have you bike on a lift and sit on the ground how many places you can see that are filthy.
Anyway, it has been kicking my ass cleaning the Bulldog but it is looking better than it ever has.
Funny how a couple of pieces of plastic and sticks could make a big difference.
I have been using Auto Tech Aluma-1 metal polish which is a liquid to clean everything with and will polish it out some more with Mothers Billet.
Had a small powerball but cannot find it now that I need it.
Enjoy,
Neil

Figures you would ask that Gas Man.
I don't think I took any when it was funky, any close up anyway. May have one on my phone but I will have to look. Got a bunch I am taking now seeing how the bike is somewhat dis-assembled as I clean it. I am taking pictures of how everything is wired and connected for a future project.
I will have to be more pro active to take some before shots from here on out just because you asked and you are good about that.
Here are some in progress,
Lord knows when I will ever finish
I will lay out all the pieces that came with the kit tomorrow and take a pic of it.
Neil

I spent a couple hours on mine tonight. Never seen rain, clay, or much dirt for that matter. I put alot of miles on her before it cooled down and hadn't got around to a good bath. It was dirty everywhere. Cranked up my new garage heater to a balmy 65 and enjoyed a few brews and poslishing up my bike. As soon as it hits 60 I'll be back in business.

Just like Thumper says "If you don't have anything good to say then don't say it"

Guess what I was gonna say?

Hey someone has to be man enough to admit they aren't a real biker around here.
I enjoyed riding with you last summer, but that !@#$% heat out there was too much for me... I drank almost a whole gallon of water after I dropped the OL off at the hotel...

Personally, I would take 45 over 105 any day...

and you did teach me a valuable lesson - always drink water with your Jack to keep from getting dehydrated in the desert. :2thumbs:

Sorry to add to the hijack, but if you saw my bike right now, you would understand that I don't have a clue about cleaning or polishing. :(

Good times man. Those jack and waters will still kick your ass if you don't watch it. I knew you would roast your ass off riding towards the lake. I took you on the coolest route possible.:2thumbs: Me and gofordave road for a few hours in 105-107 and it really was pretty tolerable. When you live out here your body gets used to heat quickly. 80-90 and sunny now thats my idea of a great ride.
