derby cover remove question?

Hi I have a 2004 pitbull. If I have the bike up on a jack sitting level can I take the Derby cover off without losing fluid? And will it need a new gasket? I am just doing some powder coating. Thank you very much for any help.

I believe you have the Harley type primary cover. Yes you can remove the cover without losing fluid. I have also re-used the gasket but you should get a new one just in case.
