so the start button wont do anything unless i put the bike in gear.
i got caught in a rainstorm a few days ago (bike was running like a pro before the rain) and got it home, rode it that night with no problems, but went to start it yesterday and i turned the key on... lights came on, then hit the start button... nothing, no sound no attempt was made on the bikes part...tried a bunch of things with no success, but i did try to put it in gear and thats when i had luck. what has happened to my bike that would cause this????

Open up your hand controls and make sure there is no water in there. In fact you should disconnect you hand controls at the PC Boards and dry they out. Put some dialect grease on the connectors and on both sides of the PC board so water doesn't affect them next time you get caught in the rain. I would also do the same thing with the connectors at the EHC and while you are at it take the tank off and unplug all your connectors (one at a time ) under the tank and stuff them with dialect grease as well. That is what most all BDM owners have done in the past or stay out off the rain. Dog don't like rain.

RIDE IT HARD!!!
Bigdog connections are not weather proof. Dielectric grease and shrink wrap All connections.
