Cut my exhaust good idea or bad?

If i cut my exhaust do i need to bracket it being this short? Also could i move the baffles back? And do you think it would look good with chrome heat shields gone black tape added and Kurykan black skull air cleaner cover?Thanks for any help i am just trying to make it look more old skool...

I would say that yes, you need a support bracket at the end of the pipes due to fact that vibration/movement over time will induce leaks at the heads. The baffle question can only be answered by measuring the lenght of the baffle, then checking if there is enough room for it to fit in before the beginng of the curve in the pipes. I would also say that you will loose a significant amount of back pressure which will present other issues...

I agree with McLovin. I wouldn't do it personally. You could just cut the rear pipe to the same length as the front?

I have cut my pipes on a couple bikes. I made them the same length and staggered. I don't have a support on mine, but I tie them together by cutting off the end of the bracket at the back and bolting it to the pipes. The TC Superglide sounds awesome and no problems at head.

pipes modified the way you have shaded look just like V&H short shot staggered. The advantage is that they would come with heat shields AND a mounting bracket specific to your application.
