Energy One

Do you think this particular design/colors would improve the looks of my bike?

I'm hoping to upgrade my exhaust with a new set from FSD. Removing the V&H pipes and support bracket will leave bolt holes from the support bracket exposed. So, I thought about having a decorative plate designed to place over the holes. I thought about possibly using an 82nd Airborne Patch for the design. While researching companies that could perform this process I came across a design that I really like. The design wouldn't work for the plate, but I thought it might look good on the Ignition Cover. I just bought a new cover because the logo/lettering have been polished off. I thought I could have the old one rechromed and then have the 82nd airborne design added. I think the flag colors would blend in well with the flames. I'm obviously biased...proud of my Army Division. My concern is whether this would detract from the overall appearance of the bike. Fortunately it's easy to reinstall the new one if I don't like the engraving. Appreciate honest opinions/ideas.

I like the idea and think you'll love it. The FSD pipes sound amazing I have a set on my Mastiff. I really hope you already have a set tho. I've talked to Frank several times and friends with him on Facebook. He says he's coming back but after 3 years discussing this with him, I'm losing hope. Everytime I talk to him there's always an excuses as to why he hasn't started making pipes again. But I hope he does and you get your pipes.

Tell Frank I want some pipes too. Hell if there’s more demand he might consider doing it. Good luck

I've been having doubts lately that I'll ever get those pipes. It's a bit ironic that ordering the pipes is what compelled me to try and restore everything to showroom condition. When I broke out the new pipes I wanted everything else perfect. Holy Crap! I had also hoped as mentioned that maybe he was waiting for enough orders to come in before he started. So...I hope anyone else wanting a set to continue encouraging Frankie that he MUST do another run!

Would it be possible for you to have another Facebook conversation with him regarding production...I'd like to offer him an additional $500. Please tell him that no other exhaust system comes close to his and I simply HAVE to have a set! Tell him that his pipes are the last piece to a long and expensive restoration process. I simply cannot finish without him.

Yes I can text him on his private number and see what he says. I wanted a custom one off for my Bulldog bagger that I gave him ideas on as far as what I was wanting. Still waiting to see what he comes up with on that one.

Starting to seem like 'custom" is becoming a thing of the past? Everybody rode the wave but nobody wants to keep making cool parts now. Buy em when ya can I guess?

I really appreciate the help. Hopefully he'll consider another go at it. While working on my Chrome restoration project, I was shocked to see that a number of parts simply cannot be found anymore. One day they're here then...

I don't get to ride as much as I used to, bad weather, work, and too many aches and pains. But I love my K9 more than I've ever loved anything else I've ever owned. I'll NEVER sell it either...NEVER. I like to imagine that someday long into the future, Frank and Mike (American Pickers) will find my pristine K9 under a dusty old tarp in my family's barn! So, while there's still time, I'm going to do everything I can to keep my K9 at 100%. I really hope Frankie will come through for me. Now that I've seen his work, I know that I'll never be satisfied with anything else. Also, I'd like to encourage anyone on the Forum thinking about pipes to get on the list. This could possibly be the last opportunity we'll ever have.

Once again...I'd like to shout out to all of my BIG DOG Brothers. This Forum has served me like no other and I thank you all.
