Custom Elephant skin seat....

Hello everyone.....i wanted to share pics of my new Elephant skin seat done by J+C Leatherworks in Allentown PA. I have a 2003 pitbull....and always wanted to redo my factory seat to make it more comfortable, and more exciting. What do you guys think? check it out.....

That looks awsome, great job, I like the pattern. I did my seat in elephant also, it will out last the bike I'm sure. ruined a brand new pair of scissors, cutting it out, but it did sew easy. I even had just enough left over to cover the levers.

looks real nice Mr wright ! I prefered the elephant over other exotics because of the durability of the skin itself. It definatly last longer.

i know i'm gonna get beat for sayin' this, but i need to say it.

yes, elephant looks good and will wear and last great, but the only place elephant skin comes from is from poached animals. i'm not a tree hugger but i do have a high regard for the lives of animals that are so majestic.

Wood, I believe you forgot the animals that have to be put down for raiding farm fields and villages, not to mention the ones who go on killing sprees.

yes, i will agree that some animals do go rogue and for one reason or another have to be put down. but it's not like elephants are bred and raised for their meat/skins/milk/etc.

My skin was purchased legally (i have the tag from africa to prove it) The skin comes from animals that are dangerous to the tribes in that region, and have to be put down, or old elephants that need to be put down. So....perfectly legal, and humane.

Mine also came with paper work to show it was hunted legally. It came out of Zambawe, were they are still hunted because there are so many. The whole elephant is used, the meat is canned and sold along with the rest of it. the money goes to help with the conservation of the animals there. I was told this by a guy I know that hunted there about 10 - 15 years ago.

I used Neatsfoot oil to darken the seat. Years later, still holding up. New intake as well.....
