Thanks for your comments, still struggling with the loss of my wife but know better days are ahead.

Gotta be tough, as I grow older and live with my wife longer I have slowly started to understand.
My wife ever leaves me on this rock by myself I'm hitting the road permanently until I fall off and die.

I feel like one of the most common themes in life is underestimating the importance of people in our lives. We all appreciate their presence and undoubtedly know it will be difficult when someone leaves but I think the pain is something we underestimate or ignore until it happens. It's probably our brains way of keeping us sane for that period of time unfortunately nothing it can do to mask the pain when it arrives.

Time doesn't heal all wounds, it just covers them up and the pain lessons.
