Let me start by saying I'm new to your website and I appreciate the positive feedback by members that have purchased Cruise-Mate for their Big Dog Motorcycles.

As you may or may not know I give members of this website 10% discount plus a free drill, tap and installation jig.

Some members have commented on the price of the Big Dog unit as compared to the Harley one. The reason for the higher price is Big Dog handlebar controls don't have sufficient room inside to use a standard friction shoe as is the case with Harley Davidson.

To overcome this issue we mold a friction patch in the end of the stud and every one is hand made, not mass produced like the Harley-Davidson, Victory and Metric Cruise-Mates.

If any members have any questions regarding the quality, functionality, installation or general information you can call us toll free

@ 877-NICE RACK (642-3722) or visit our website Motorcycle throttle lock cruise control.

Thank all who support my product.

Tom -- great product. I've put them on both the dog and the Harley. Easy install and I like having it on the highway.

Nice piece of engineering

Average time to install one on our Dogs is about how long?

Took me 45 minutes, but I was really taking my time and double checking everything. The one on the Harley only took about 25 minutes.

The key is aligning the drill jig in the right place...easy to do but important.

What about mounting on a later model BD? I have the thumb screw to lock the throttle which sucks because you cant screw it easily due to its size and placement. How does that hold versus your unit?

emmclary,

Seems that Raywood put one on his 05 and was pretty happy with it. Hopefully if so, he will pipe in soon and give some more info. If I recall right, it replaces the original like on our BD and requires some mod to the thread area due to different type.

The stock wheel stop sucks = it never worked for me. This one works great every time. easy on and easy off.

I think I'll have to place an order. I wish you were coming to the ROT Rally next month.

I got mine today and did the install. First thing is that the instructions are pretty explicit so follow them. The pics are just how I did it.

First I removed the grip and seperated the pieces then removed the switch plate. flipped the whole unit upside down and secured it to the bar with some bungies that I had laying around. Then I mounted the halves together.

That wasn't working so I did it again with a rag in between the handle bars and the master cylinder

then I mounted the Jig

and turned the handlebar so I could drill the whole

drilled and tapped using the jig. Take your time drilling and the metal piece in the jig did spin so I held it while operating the drill.

cleaned everything (believe me I did)

reassembled per the instructions

and here is how it works

removing the four screws to remove the board is better IMO than messing with the connection

This thing should be a nice plug saver. It was nice starting the bike and locked it in to warm up so I could get a good idle without using the enrichner.
