Crud in Adjure Headlight?

Energy One

Is their quality control dropping or what? Mine's been building up crud over the last few months. It seems to be a result of the bulb heating the blue dot which seems to be out-gassing this crud. Gravity seems to be a factor since most of the crud is directly below the dot. There does seem to be dust arount the intieror of the glass too.

Anyone else seeing this?

I was noticing mine does seem to have a little haze on the reflector, but it is above the dot, not below - I wondered if it was just heat rising from the bulb and affecting the reflector surface.

The blue dot is still just as shiny as it ever was - no deterioration visible. The bottom of the reflector is still just like new as well.

I don't see any evidence of what's in your picture, chacha.

Good news P8triot...I must have got the light made the morning after Wen Ho Lie's drinking binge

I've boxed it up and am sending it to Adjure with a WTFO note. I'll see what (if anything) they say...

Chris, if Mrs Gas takes January,
then Mrs Cha is down for February.

Then maybe "Mrs" Patriot in March...she should be legal by then in most states :2thumbs:

Mrs Gas will be in December... but the calander is being put together by some ladies from the sportbike site... even though she isn't on a sportbike they are using it show they are open minded.

So here's the update.

I send (at my cost) the light and a note about the problem. I reccomend they check their quality control and that I'm less than impressed with their product.

How do they respond?

They send the box back WITHOUT EVEN OPENNING IT!. Note on the outside of the box is pre-printed and says returned as no RMA (Return authorization) was included. They didn't even open the box. :spank:

Obviously they could care less about customers, feedback or quality.

They are dead to me......they don't deserve to be profitable. My money is going somewhere else.

You never called them about it before sending it? If not, then do it now and tell them that. Maybe they'll just send you a new one without looking at it, with a return shipping label for your old one.

Most Companies will not accept returns without a Return Authorization Number especially after 9-11.

I always start with Honey when dealing with this type of problem, when you question a Company product or the QA System a wall goes up!

I'm with you on this when a bad company is involved. I had no desire for a replacement. My goal was to clue them into a problem, and out of couriosity, see if they responded.

In a sense they did respond -- in a way I tell people about and make it clear that, to me, this company does not deserve your money.:flag:

But either way... they didn't open it for maybe many reasons. 9-11 stuff liek kick said, or maybe the RMA provides the 19 year old shipping boy the info as to who or what dept to send the package to.

Yeah, I'll never buy an Adjure headlight again. I bought it mostly to get the more easy dis-assembly mechanism their's offer over the ring method of the Headwinds one. However, as I quickly found out, it is VERY easy to slip that tube thing that acts to hold everything in place, only to later have the entire headlight assembly fall out as the tube falls out due to it not being installed quite right. The thing is, the damn tube will go in and appear to be in correctly, and it's next to impossible (at least for me) to tell whether it is really in correctly or not. The hooded style as I got apparently has this problem, at least that's what the guy at Adjure told me when I spoke to them.

This, coupled with the lens that gets a smoky, cruddy appearance pretty much seals it for me.
