Creepy Clutch

Got my mastiff all back together, adjusted clutch per spec. Got two issues though. When I pull the clutch all the way in bike still wants to creep forward like the clutch isn't fully engauged. But my other issue is the clutch doesn't start pulling/moving the bike until it's over half way out and doesn't fully lock up or engauge until the lever is fully released. Kinda puzzling..

Am I missing the obvious?

It's a 2006.

Got the cable bout perfect. Right there in the penny area.

I have the rod set at 1/4 may be where the problem lies.

The bike pulls slightly at idle. You can start it in gear but it drags on the starter a bit and gives a slight pull forward. It's easy to hold back/keep from creeping forward but you can tell something isn't allowing the clutch to fully engauge.

Funny thing is the clutch used to start grabbing just as soon as you let it out. Didn't seem to pull at idle, but you could not get it in neutral at idle.

Clutch looked good when I took the primary and basket all apart. I put the clutches and the steels all back in the same order they came out. So other than the rod I'm a bit puzzled.

Did the 1/16 to the 1/8 work?, did that fix the issue?
Chances are if you have a 12 plate clutch system of you are still grabbing at idle with a 1/4 turn your clutch pack is below spec.

The reason they went to 9 plates in the 08 and later big dogs was because the steels on the 12 plate wear too quick. Mine was out of spec in under 10k miles and made adjusting the clutch a pain in the ass. I replaced with a thicker Steel and got my pack to proper height and I'm back to a quarter turn and all is well.

Measure your stack height needs to be 1.96"-1.98" if I remember correctly

I switched to Lucas automatic Trans fluid and never had a problem again.

The hd synthetic primary fluid was causing it to drag and pull at idle. That's what I had to do to fix mine.
