Crank case breather big oil leaking issue

Sounds right to me! Isn't that what I said in your other post ? Haha

Only thing I don't know why TP would say you NEED both breathers open. Like I said before it's highly preferred but not NEEDED. Head breathers are NEEDED but I guess I'm just playing with words. If they are there run them both!

Also the comment about the check valve is only applicable to the SSW+ engines. None of the 107 Big Dogs have them, they are the older SSW and no +. S&S came out with that new design with the 117 and it's on 05+ dogs.

They get rid of the banjo bolts in the head on the SSW+ and use the one way check valve.

Great article S&S has on their SSW+ breathing.

The check valve I am talking about is in the oil pump.
It can leak the oil bag oil into the crankcase.(causing excessive oil pumped out when you start the engine

you are speaking of the vent system. apple's and oranges.
( my 01 pitbull was doing this , and I cleaned reseated the checkball , no more wetsumping.

I know this is a little old,but,not too long ago I was on the phone with TP Engineering,,I was inquiring about something I read in the service manual,"it is not necessary to get the oil out of the crank case during oil changing.",I was told that because of the oil pump that is on the bike,the crank case holds less than 2/3rds of an ounce(may not be exact #,but,there is minimal oil stored in the case),so,although the opening post in this thread makes complete sense,not sure what to think,,,PS,my bike does it after sitting for a while.
