Are you sure ? I can't see what purpose that would serve especially in a 3qt system.
I run 1/2 qt. low engine oil. Just a habit. Heat expansion in an air cooled engine is also a consideration. Between the sump, and oil cooler, it's hard to drain all the oil out. Roller bearing engines don't need oil pressure like plate bearing engines, plus the V-Twins have excellent oil delivery to the lifters, and top end. A little less oil also lessens the chance of wet sumping.
