This is a cool new item out for your I-Pod. Will mount on your bars allowing total control of your I-pod while riding. I have found these on 4 or 5 bike sites but they all want $129.95 for them. Link is the best pricie I have found with them in stock in black (found lot's of white ones cheaper then MSRP, but white sucks). With this you can store your pod in your jacket or a bag and fully control it's functions from the remote.

Interesting idea but I wonder how well it stands up to the weather?

I know for my iPod, I jsut make a bunch of playlist and lay them out for at least 2-3 hours worth, then when I hit the road, I have the setting on volumn equalization (that way the volumn stays the same), adjust to the proper level and then put it in a front shirt pocket. Most of the time, I can actuall work the controls with my fingers through the shirt pocket to go to next song or replay or stop.

A remote would not be bad though, just wonder how the weather can effect it, especially rain or high mositure. Let us know how it works out and thanks for the info!

Info I have found says it takes water veyr well ( i am guessing better then an i-pod.) reviews i have read have been very positive, many from bikers that have used it in rain Here is a link to the Manuf. ABT They have some pics of it mounted on a bike, but you can't zoom for a better shot (they need Gas taking the pics). Fiber I have been doing exactly as you have to date with my i-pod. Just discovered the volumn equalization thing recently. Figured if I could mount this unit on my bars, I could control my pod via my left thumb and keep my eyes on the road.

I've actually got a case that straps to my left thigh and can control that with my thumb while riding. Pretty much just use the Play/Stop and Skip Forward/Back. Scrolling through playlists would be just asking for it.

REI has wet weather cases for them as well. Guys use them kayaking.
