Cone air cleaner???

Energy One
Wanting to buy a cone style cleaner and mount it horizontally. But reading posts of people having jet problems so is it a good idea and if so any suggestions where to buy one and jets if need to rejet? Its on a 08 k9.

some people have had problems that re-jetting doesn't fix, others have not, I couldn't get mine to work even after having it on the dyno at Gateway BigDog. I went with the dual runner and zero problems. They do look great, hope you are one of those who don't have any issues

Here ya go chummy dog, you can buy everything your heart desires in bad ass air filters here. I run a D&M spike and have never had any problems horizontal or vertical. They sell all sorts of filters here.

if your carb is on the lean side you can have issue's. Go with Brooks suggestion with D&M. A little pricey but good stuff.

I have the D&M spike and had problems with it horizonal. But only in cool to cold weather. Always at 65 to 70 mph. It would stumble sometimes. Tried changing the jets and it would be ok until the weather changed again. Turned it vertical and no more problems.

No one has mentioned the air bleed.
The spike air cleaners almost always need an adjustment to the air bleed on carbureted bikes.

Go powerflow and you wont have the problem you get with the spears.

I've run my D&M spear horizontal and vertical in all weather conditions and at different altitudes and NEVER had any problems......what you talking about......problems?????
