clutchs

have new 2008 k9 first bigdog got it june put new clutch in july.it still slips a little when iam in like 4or5 gear an gas on it.has good free play in clutch.its good on take off and holds good thuo gears.is there something i can do for this.

If the bike is still under warranty, I would take it back to the dealer and have them adjust the clutch. Most members have dealt with the same issues, you just need to make small adjustments until you get it right. Check this thread out, it may help you out...:2thumbs:

it ain't under warranty get rid of it. I went to a soft pull and couldn't stop it from slipping in 4th. I tried for weeks to adjust that damn thing. I've been very impressed with the quality of my K9 but the clutch was the weak link. Never checked to see if another clutch and basket would work but I'd think one would. I'd been eyeballing open primarys and went with Karata. The clutch in the Karata is amazing! Adjust it one time and your done. The first time I put it in gear I thought something was wrong, never felt it go in. Neutral is always right there, hot or cold, don't have to snap the throttle to find it. Annoying problem solved......
