Clutch slipping

Hey all,
Recently changed out my primary fluid, and before reading all posts regarding synthetic fluid I installed a quart of Red Line full synthetic for V-Twin primaries.

Question: I have noticed some slippage on my clutch now, particularly when I hammer on the throttle pretty hard - I'm planning on replacing with a non-synthetic fluid, but would you recommend pulling the clutch apart to clean the disks with brake cleaner before the fluid change, or would it really matter? I'm wondering about any possible cross contamination. Note: clutch adjustment is right on the money, so this does not need to be done!!!

Thanks!!!

Started having problems with my clutch, which is bandit so i researched it. The website says under no circumstances use any typical harley primary oils but use automatic transmission fluid...No slippage now and easy gear change also finds neutral easy when stationery. Hope this helps.

drain it well take take the cover off and clean it out put it back togather, I use a 50-50 mix of B&M trick shift and lucas 85-140 oil works well and no slippage!! ohh and adjust your clutch!!

And why not 100% Trick Shift .. I find it works very well ... Have been running it now for two seasons ...

It is only my opinion, but I would change the Primary Drive to non-synthetic and ride it. Change it out again if needed after some ride time up to 2500 miles or so. So what I am saying is dilution is the solution. I would not take apart anything that isn't broken. You did say you noticed "some slipping". I think it is worth doing an oil change or two.

I hate to correct micky but the only fluid recommended by bandit machine works is spectra gold. I spoke directly to them when I put my bandit in. I dont think I would wanna be putting automatic transmission in my primary drive.

You did not like it ?

Hears a quote from HD forum I don't think it is for everyone ? Sorta like motor oil everyone has a comfort level ... B&M Trick Shift -long term - Harley Davidson Forums

Hmmm They called Barnett for me and asked what oil is best for their clutch. They recomend Trick shift Non Synthetic for their clutches
over all others
.

Not sure I buy this but ???

I use Trick Shift ATF! Been using it for a while now. Before I began using it, I could not find neutral unless engine was off. With Trick Shift been finding neutral very easy, enging runnung or not.
