Clutch help

I’m sure this has already been discussed but I’ve done some looking and can’t seem to find it, I have a 05 chopper 117 with the right hand drive clutch set up, I put new clutches and steels in last winter because the stock was slipping and these are slipping out the gate. I need a better clutch, I guess my question is for the right hand drive bikes what clutch kits will work?

I was looking at bandit, is there a difference in the clutch for a right hand drive bike and regular? Or do they use the same clutches? I found one that you can change out springs for the pressure plate but want to make sure it works before spending 500+

SKOGDOG

One of the old ones.
With most if not all newer Big Dogs, RH drive is ‘regular’. If you call Bandit, they’ll get you fixed up. Nothing about the stock BD clutch and Bandit are the same.
IMHO—and Mr. Wright has also addressed this—when you have clutch slippage after the plates have been replaced, it’s usually wear on the OEM aluminum pressure plate. That was my problem for sure.
HDM sells an improved hardened one that solves it. I’d suggest you install one of those and if it still slips, buy a Bandit and sell the hardened one on the Forum—lots of guys would snap it up and you recover some $$.
Bandit is great for ‘built’ engines that can overpower a stock clutch. If you’re running 11:1 compression with a 640 cam, timimg, and big valve springs or you’re one of the ‘full throttle every gear’ type riders, the Bandit is made just for you.
