This is a message I sent to BDM:Message:
I have an 06 Mastiff, there seems to be a problem with premature Clutch
cable failure on quite a few years and models of Dogs. My cable failed
at 12879 miles athough others have failed sooner. Seems the ball and
ramp mechanism puts strain on the cable causing the failure. My
question is, do you acknowledge a problem exsists, and is there a fix
available from BDM?

Here is there responce:Clutch cables are a wear item and are not covered by BigDog warranty.
Thank you

its the big FU... answer line... all I can say is order the barnett cable.. ask them about your old cable.. some have had them repair it for free. but then I've heard thay stoped doing that.. good luck.. I have extras for my dogs..if you swap to the easy pull set up it should help for less cable pull & the cable should last longer.. try to keep the cables lubed well..

I have a new cable, and Barnett said they would fix my old cable. I just want to get to the bottom of this mysterious cable failure. I will make my own ball and ramp system if thats the problem. Don't like this no warning simple cable failure shit.

Sorry for the hi-jack but still kind of on topic. I've read a lot of the threads dealing with clutch cables Is this more common on the bikes with the DSSC setup? Seems like most of the guys with broken cables have 05's and up.
