Does anyone know how much play your clutch lever should have? My issue is when I start my 06 Mastiff after its been sitting overnight it lurches fwd a bit like its in gear even though I have the clutch in. After it warms up it doesn't do it at all.. is that normal or could the clutcch cable be too tight?

Thx for any help on this.

I have been noticing this same thing when I crack the throttle with the clutch squeezed...

I would suggest you try putting it in Neutral when you start it until it warms up  The Clutch Lever should have about 1/8 play (a quarter thick). The lever does not adjust your clutch you need to adjust the push rod 1/4 turn out from 0 play. Some bikes take different adjustment a little more or less than 1/4 turn. My 06 Mastiff works well with a 1/4 turn out from 0 play. Do a search and you will find how to adjust both the cable and clutch.

most likely it pulls when cold due to the gear oil in the tranny.. when it warms up its not so thick.. just put it in neutral when starting,, then let it warm up.. if it continues to pull in gear check clutch adjustment.. there are alot of threads & how to advice on clutch adjustment.. just search...

Seems the clutch cable gremlin is out in full force. Had to make adjustment this morning, slid the rubber boot up loosened the nut and just a tad over 1/4 turn did the trick, back to riding.

just so ya know.. the cable adjustment isnt to adjust the clutch... only use the cable adjustment to take the slack out of the cable.. it does stretch.. all cables will..
