Clutch Cable

Just wanted to get everyones opinion on the clutch cable...
I will be bringing my bike in for a check-up prior to this riding season, and do you think I should just have them replace my clutch cable even though its not giving me problems? Everyone seems to be buying a spare clutch cable, but I don't work on my own bike, so do you think it would be wise to just switch out for a new one with the beginning of the riding season...or just because its new doesn't mean its going to last longer then my current, thanks.

How many miles do you have on your bike. My cable was breaking about every 6 to 7000 miles. But i Have heard different numbers so who is really to say? Even if you don't work on your own ride I think a spare is in order so at least if your a long way from home all you have to do is find a mechanic that can put it on for you versus trying to find the cable too.
