So my bike has always had that minor ticking from the lifters.. adjusted push rods a few times and it went away for a period and came back.. now she sounds like a clock on crack. I went to go adjust em before I went to Dallas a few weeks ago and nothing I did would crack the top jam nut loose.. n e ways question being is once I finally crack that loose, should I tear off the head and inspect everything or just do my push rod adjustment?

That's for TP heads.. but I wonder how different the heads I have are and so on.. it started ticking a little louder before I left Dallas and by the time I got home.. well someone wound that clock like a mad man

Knows some things
S&S recommends replacing lifters at 20000 or 25000 miles, I forget which, so you should be good there. Like Keith said, Marky had a good video on that.

On the picture before that, the Kaptin sells an adapter that will screw in there, so you can mount a oil pressure gauge.
Well.. I will look into that... sounds very handy! Thank you sir.. and what would cause that damn too jam but not to crack loose?

So how do I crack an loose without messing the rod up.. no matter how tight I tighten the lower jam but it will still spin a little
You can't really mess the rod up. Considering you can't get it to loosen that means you can't get it to lengthen Therefore you really don't have anything to worry about except busting your knuckles.

Try longer wrench's for leverage.

I would also get a mechanical oil pressure gauge.

Have you ever even tested the oil light you have since you switched over to a different gauge? Might want to just ground out that sender wire and see if it triggers your oil pressure light. Otherwise maybe you got a big ol' problemo? Might want to do that before you touch your pushrods at all.
