or powder coating? think about getting mine done - can't make my mind up - there is a place near here who will also polish the wheels and put a clear coat powder coat on them

I think maybe next winter I will check into powder coating the center of my wheels and leaving the outer rings polished. But there are endless possibilities with powder coating however I think your limited on color choices and masking off any area with anodizing.

Good call Lee. I haven't thought about clear powder coat..... My bike is silver with black. After spending hours cleaning them yesterday I'm thinking on powdercoating the wheel black with a outline of the design left polished, like what martin brothers did on the black RB's. It'd be nice if they can clear the whole damn wheel that way.

Here's what I'm talking about. The only thing I plan on doing differently is leaving the 1/2' lip around the outside of the rim polished also.

I like that a lot - I'm thinking of doing the wheels, the intake, the headlight bucket and the rear fender struts - all in gloss black

Ditto that and add the tripple trees, lower fork tubes, front fender bracket speedo bucket and handle bars.

I am also thinking of blacking out my rims with some aluminum polished showing through. I want to black out the motor as well, but that is pretty pricey. If any one has pics like Mario posted above, get um on here just the idea factor if nothing else.

while having my wheels repolished the guys showed me the clear coat they put on wheels. it really looks good but, it had a duller finish than the fresh polish did. you were able to tell the differance between to two. i decided not to clear coat.

Any thoughts about nickel plating the rims? I saw it done on an episode of American Chopper and it looked good.

Just keep in mind if the parts have been anodized they may not powdercoat them as they need a virgin surface. Sandblasting alone will not be good enough. A good friend is in the business and does all my powder-coating, they have some great colors these days and he has been adding metal flake right into the dry powder coat mix with great success. I would love a scoot that was 100% powder-coated - rinse and ride!! :2thumbs:

Sounds sharp Lee... :2thumbs:

Sounds like a similar look to the Limited Edition Mastiffs

Now you gotta get your juggs powdercoated and diamond cut - drive wheel - rotors - brakes - struts :D

Here's a link - to help you get some more great idea's -

you're not wrong Cutter it will look a bit like that - the company I'm using also do the jugs powder and diamond cut - for me personally though its not worth the expense
