Chrome handlebar control

Am considering the "chrome" handlebar control option and was interested in feedback. There has always been the chrome vs billet debate but other than that:
1) Is the kit all inclusive - in particular the front master cylinder components - piston, banjo etc.?
2) Was it worth the $$$
Many thanks

Really can't answer your question, I have the billet, but I've seen them both side by side and the chrome just looks better. If I had the Benjamins I would go with chrome :D

I got the chrome controls on mine. I like them!! The only thing that casued any trouble was the lid for the master cylinder. A tiny bit of a lip of chrome on the bottom side caused the lid not to seal exact and it made a little leak. I took the lid and sanded the bottom with some fine grit paper and all is good now. I got the whole BDM chrome package and it was worth the money for me so I don't have to polish all that aluminum.

I chromed everything on mine but the wheels, I have no issues and a quarter of the cleanup time

I have the chrome kit, which is complete. Hard to put a value on the shine :D

I have the polished aluminum on mine and after 5 yrs they still look good and clean/shine up really good with some Mothers cream.
However, if I had the extra $$ I'd prolly go with the chrome.

Rub Whore,
I've been looking at the K9 picture when you post (the one of the right and left sides). I couldn't help thinking to myself- is that really your bike? Just so you know the aviator picture on my post isn't me.

I love all chrome, but when it pits it's done, but with the billet it comes back with a lot of hard that's if you let it get that bad in the first place:2thumbs:

I had billet on my '05 Chopper and now chrome on my '09 K9. The bottom line (for me)...CHROME IS BETTER!!!:2thumbs:
Anytime I can avoid polishing billet aluminum is time I can be riding instead!:whoop:

For the cost what about PM controls, handlebars of your choice and a rewire ?

If I had the jack thats what I'd do.

Thanks

Thank you all for your feedback

Looks like CHROME is the preferred approach provided $$$ aren't an issue.

Can anyone comment on the components included in the so called "aftermarket decorative option" - Chromed handlebar control - does it include the master cylinder components, piston, crush washers, banjo bolt, etc.?

Thanks a ton.

I have the billet swapped out for the chrome before I picked up my Chopper. I believe the cost was somewhere in the neighborhood of $700 (could be wrong - but that's what I recall). I also had the wheels and a vast majority of the billet chromed. It looks great, never had any problems and I spend my time riding - not polishing.
