I know when I got my parts plated through Brown's Plating, they had a thing in the paperwork that stated they no longer plate complete frames. You might have to do some searching to find someone to do something that size.

That would be e big tank!!!!!!! Big tank=big bucks!!!!

I have seen prices from $1800 to $2400 for a complete frame. Rigids are a little cheaper then softails because of the masking. But I can't remember what the effect was on the frame but the chromer was asking customers to sign a waiver of some kind to release them of liability. Something with the reaction of chrome with the welds. Do some research on it. Alot of guys are going with a nickle plate powder coat the a clear powder over that to give it that chrome look without the chrome price.

I use the same chromer that BDM uses for some of their parts and I can tell you that their price to chrome a frame is closer to the $4k mark. (just info for comparison)

They also do Black Nickel which is a cool option.

Hope it’s not the same one that does the lower legs on their forks!!!

How about the "chrome look" powder coat?

I have seen some of the GM wheels with the chrome looking powder coat and it looks damn good!

It looks better than polished ceramic coating or polished zinc plating.

Look into it. I know the guy I was dealing with could do it.

Jake was thinking what I was... I know that the some of the ceramic coated headers look damn near like dull chrome or like polished billet.

Then the chrome powder would be cool.

Did you decide to just keep yours and customize vs selling it for a new dog?

i chromed my frame it came out ok. but the metal had thousands of pot holes they had to polish and copper it a couple of times extra to take out most of them. caloco did my frame here in chicago. mike the owner said the real problem
is the polishing of the frame, i had a chance watch them for a bit trying to move my frame around a 20+hp motor was not a easy task and dangerous to say the least.i am not saying that your frame will be as bad as mine was. k9 where made by big dog not sure who makes yours . i payed $1700 but i went thru a friend.

Hey, a friend of mine has just started a Redneck Build and he is having the frame chromed. He said a chromer that does bumpers does his work and they get $1700 for a ridged frame, slightly more for a softail because of the two separate pieces. If your interested, I can get the chromers info, just PM me and let me know.
