Chrome Exchange

I'm curious how many dealers around the country offer a "chrome exchange" program.

Assuming you take your bike in for some kind of service, they may offer to swap your polished parts for chromed ones - for a fee, of course.

Raywood told me it was common practice down in California, and we've been working on our local dealer to do the same.

Just yesterday I took my bike in for the 5k service, and they offered to swap out my black BR pipe mount for a chromed one - $92 exchanged and installed.

They also said they are setting up inventory for a variety of other parts to swap out.

Anybody else got that going?

So Coooool!
I wish the dealership here (Mi) had something going like that!
My bikes in the past haven't had much down time as I head south in the winter when it gets to cold to ride here. I'll have to check it out in Tampa or Ft Lauderdale when I get down there. I would love to have my wheels and other stuff chromed....I just don't want the down time.

Alicat... you know you can probably get that done in one of those sweet shops in Florida. I'm sure Tonya and Tampa Big Dog can take care of you. While us stuck in michigan are screwed! :bang:

This is a great thread, and I also wished my "local" dlr offered more of this.
We have one dlr in this state, and one more just 320 miles from here, then another one at 510 miles, then it goes downhill ...

Our local dlr Sreel Dreams is great and the Mechanic (Thomas) is first rate, and a great guy to boot.

Issues are fixed quickly the first time.

With a dlr like this, we only need one.
