bdm responded to a friend with this email.......................You can inspect your wheel for any cracks. We had a small amount of
wheels actually break, but felt that it was in the best interest of the
customer to do a voluntary recall on these wheels. As long as you
inspect the wheel, I suggest every 2500 miles, you should be OK.

Delly...this one really sounds like a safety issue. If it were peeling chrome or a speedo issue it would be one thing, but it's not. That wheel breaks while you are riding it could cost you tons more in medical bills than getting the new wheel rechromed. That is BEST CASE SENARIO. Seriously, be glad someone caught this and it is being taken care of.

But I wonder if having chrome on the wheel would obscure a crack from visual inspection until it was too late?

It seems to me that the only way I would trust a chromed wheel would be if I had access to eddy current or xray...

Just curious if I'm the only one tired of Delly2's bitching and whining, please sell that POS and buy something else. If they replaced your bike with a new one you would still bitch, no BDM isnt perfect but I'm pretty sure no one could please you, hell I bet your boyfriend hates you too!!

Everybody's recall letter said the same thing. They didn't do personalized letters, it said they were replacing the wheel. I called BDM and asked if I could still ride before I got the new wheel, they said they would prefer I did not for safety's sake, but I was going to anyway at least inspect the wheel. Delly2 needs to get the facts straight before posting.
