I have a question...my tachometer does not work and I have a new one coming. I have in the past changed my entire speedo but since my speedo is working I am only going to have to change out the tach part. Has anyone done this before and if so give me some pointers?
Thankx!!

There's a printed circuit board ring that does the function of the tach and the lower indicator lights. it just plugs into the wiring harness.

Simple... I'll tell you how I would do mine... you may have to adapt if you have a split tank.

First follow this thread.

When you get to the point of it being apart...

Then with it apart, pull the tach wire harness pictured here

Pull the 2 nuts removing the bracket assembly.

Then the speedo will slide thru the front.

Then pull the catch ring holding the tach in. Slide the board out, minding the LEDs.

Don't think you will need to pull the foam... but here's all the parts for that.

I clicked those other links too.
I didn't remove my fuel tank either I just turned the bars as far as I could to one side and I have the allens with the ball on the end.
