Just finished cleaning up and polishing carburetor and manifold before adding a thunderjet and chroming everything. My father has a guy who does the chroming but was thinking about getting the materials to try and do it myself... wondering if anyone has tried and had positive experiences doing the chrome themselves with kits you can buy online. Thank you in advance

So that picture is of you just cleaning the parts? If so why chrome it? Looks just as good. And as for these chroming kits......I have no idea.

Thanks for the reply ..I sanded +polished and it took quite a wile. I'm thinking the chrome will be much easier + quicker for me to keep clean which is why I wanted to take that route.

So much work! Can see why you want to chrome it because nobody wants to pull their carb once a year to polish. I’m working on mine now. So many casting flaws in hard to reach places. I’m thinking of leaving the chrome to a pro though. If it’s not right it will drive you nuts

Another thing to think about is messing up airflow and any little ports. Some guys chrome their carb and discover they ruined it...
