Can you put a wide tire on the front

Energy One
Hi all
I have a 2007 K9 and would like to put a wide front tire on it. Anyone know if this can be done or what it would take. I think it would handel a little better. Any thoughts
Thanks Tim

I think you can go to a 120 with on problems, you would have to go to a larger diameter wheel, fender and spacers, I am not sure on the rotor, i'm sure someone else here has done it. I think it would look great!

Not sure, but would be real curious what it would look like. Post pics if and when done. Also interested in handling characteristics.

Yeah and you can put a dick on a fish too, but it doesn't mean it will swim faster or look better.

IMO chopper style bikes like the chopper, the ridgeback, and our K9s need the skinny front tire to look right. I'd be interested in seeing one modified like you described but I would never do it to mine.

Post a picture if you can, I'd be interesting is seeing that. Just seems to go against the grain of the "chopper" styling, kinda dragster like with huge rear tires and skinny front tires.

As for handling not sure if there would be improvements. I don't expect a chopper to corner well.

Yeah post a pic if you have one.

RubWhore, do you have a normal picture you could post? And why was Woodbutcher referring to your bike as a " Ebay K9 "

I asked a builder about a wider tire like your talking about for the front. He told me there is a certain combination of front and rear tire width for handling. The MH90/21 goes with the 300 in the rear for best handling.

Heres sum pitchers as Ive even toyed with changing tanks two,in order two do it you have to change wheels to the wider 3.5 in width and you got to use a differnt fender whitch haint no problem niether as you can sell your old fender and struts to pay for the new fender same goes for the wheels as far as looks and handling looks a lot more massive and beefeer and handling is a vast differance as you got a hole lot more tire width

As far as why its called the Ebay K9 is cause it was built from junk off Ebay,
if you search the forum the hole build is somewhere on here from bear frame
to completion

Hears won with a prosport tank on a K9 and the seat Stearling made me last year for his website pitchers and this won is of my mirror mods to match my leverers and forward controls

I just wanta ride
I have an 06' RB and had the tire changed out about 1 year ago and it was one I had on hand and put it on it was 90 x 90 x21. It was very close to touching the fender. If you run over a rock on the front you could hear it pass thru the fender and tire. I have switched back to the mh90 x 21. Yes I left the fender on. Now with out the fender a 120 would work I believe.

Your rite it will work but if you use a wider rim the tire wood have a lower profile you can put a 250 on the front if you dont use a fender as I studyed about doin it cause I had a Boorget a while back that had that on it
