Buying a used bike

I'm looking at a used big dog in Dallas tomorrow I think, I'm wondering how I can make sure that I am making a good buy. I used to race motorcycles 7 yrs ago but since then I have been away from two wheels, and even then I wasn't the most mechanically inclined.

Would a local big dog dealer be able to do a quick look over? Or what should I look for?

So what are you buying ...year ...model ...etc..

Call strokers and give them the VIN# to see if all the recalls or what was done on the bike as for service. What year model etc.. are you looking at?
