Build Your Pipes

Now I know everyone lives on some type of budget, so I thought I would pass this along. This is a set of kerker pipes with the muffler removed. I used a turn out tip off of a cruiser. the cruiser tip slips on the header and clamps as did the stock muffler. then replace the heat shield. very simple.
i used a piece of flat stock steel, connected it to the header clamp and to a Keareakin (sp) clam shell brace around the rear frame.
other options are to use custom auto/truck exhaust tips which can be found in Pep boys, or Midus muffler shop etc. there are a lot of styles out there.
these pipes are a mock-up set i put together so i could get an idea of the finished product. this pipe will be chopped, cut, and welded so we can convert them for use on Pattys metric bobber.
for that I have to use her cyc flang mounts from one set of pipes and then bend and add pipe to connect them to the 2n1 unit. that will be quite a lot of work, but i think they will be super on the bobber. i will be using a smaller exhaust tip when i get them finished. Thanks ChaCha for the help.

Pablo, the flames only shoot about 6" out, but they do miss her feet now. but now that its chilly, she might miss the heat. also the rear peg want turn brown from the other exhaust.:whoop:

and yes they are gold coins, dating back the late 70s pirate parades that we still have here in tampa. the entire bike in painted and engraved with the pirate theme.

Gasman,

i've got two pair of the 06 style that i have converted. there is a shot of one them in the gallery. i dumped the muffler, then added long auto turn outs, drilled holes in the heat shields, then had them powder coated to match the bike paint.
the other set i left the heat shields chrome.
I ran that style longer than any of the others.

Skully I said you had a sick bike before.
WOW you have it so pimped brother.
It's like a good porn there is something for everyone to look at.

Thanks Guys,

the shame of it is, with the way all the paint changes colors it is really hard to take pictures that show all the details hidden in the paint. the paint changes from bright tangerine to dark gold. the panels change from green to gold to burgandy. all this depends on where you stand looking at it and what light it is standing under. I have had people look at it during a show in the daylight and then at night and then asked how we got it to change colors. I have had the same judges look at the bike a differant shows, to then tell me later that they saw a certain item on the bike that they never seen before.
I've been very lucky with the number of awards that we have collected with it. credit must be given to my painter Scott Gulley and my billet/engraver man Grumpy Herman.
